The short version: Use Altern8 AI lawfully, pay for what you use, do not reverse-engineer the software, and we will support your deployment. These terms govern your use of this website and any Altern8 AI software license.
By accessing altern8ai.com or using any Altern8 AI software, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
Altern8 AI is a private enterprise AI intranet that runs on the customer's own infrastructure. We provide:
The software runs entirely on your infrastructure. We do not host, process, or have access to any data you enter into your Altern8 deployment.
Subject to payment of applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Altern8 AI software within your organisation for the number of users in your plan.

Altern8 AI uses large language models to generate responses. AI outputs are not legal, financial, medical, or regulatory advice. Outputs should be reviewed by qualified professionals before being relied upon for consequential decisions. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of AI outputs.
The AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. You are responsible for verifying outputs against authoritative sources.
Altern8 AI includes retrieval, grounding, and verification features intended to check answers against source material and to flag or withhold answers that cannot be supported. These features reduce the likelihood of error but do not eliminate it, and are not a warranty, representation, or guarantee that any output is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any purpose.
Labels such as “verified,” “grounded,” “cited,” or “escalated” describe the system’s automated processing of a given query against available sources at a point in time. They are descriptions of that automated process only. They do not certify the correctness of the underlying sources, the completeness of retrieval, or the soundness of any conclusion, and they must not be relied upon as such. A grounded or cited answer may still be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You remain solely responsible for independently verifying every output before relying on it.
Altern8 AI, including all software, models, corpora, features, and outputs, is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, piBits AI expressly disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, that defects will be corrected, or that outputs will meet your requirements or produce any particular result. Because the software runs on your infrastructure and integrates with your data and your chosen AI models, the performance, accuracy, and security of your deployment depend on factors within your control, for which you are responsible.
Altern8 AI is a decision-support tool. It does not make, and must not be used as a substitute for, regulatory, legal, financial, clinical, or other professional determinations. Where you deploy Altern8 AI in a regulated context — including banking, securities, government, healthcare, or legal practice — you remain solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing conditions, and professional obligations, and for ensuring that qualified personnel review and approve any output before it informs a consequential decision.
Any references in our materials to regulatory frameworks (including RBI, SEBI, MCA, DPDP Act 2023, GDPR, HIPAA, or others) describe the architecture’s design intent to support your compliance efforts. They are not a representation that any deployment is certified, audited, or compliant. Achieving and maintaining compliance is your responsibility and depends on your configuration, data, processes, and independent assessment.
Altern8 AI is licensed as an annual platform licence, priced by sector edition and organisation size as described on altern8ai.com/pricing at the time of purchase. Licences are invoiced annually and renew for successive annual terms unless either party gives notice before renewal. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Refunds are at our discretion and evaluated case by case.
If an annual licence fee remains unpaid past its due date, support and updates may be suspended after a 30-day grace period with notice. The software already deployed on your infrastructure continues to run.
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Because Altern8 runs on your infrastructure, we do not process your enterprise data.
Altern8 AI, the A8 mark, and all associated branding are the property of piBits AI Solutions Pvt Ltd (“piBits AI”). Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.
You retain all rights to your own data and content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, piBits AI’s total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Altern8 AI, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed the licence fees you actually paid to piBits AI in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, piBits AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Altern8 AI or its outputs, even if piBits AI has been advised of the possibility of such damages. This allocation of risk is reflected in the pricing and is a fundamental basis of the agreement between us.
You agree to indemnify piBits AI against any claims arising from your use of Altern8 AI in violation of these terms or applicable law.
You may elect not to renew your annual licence at any time before the renewal date. We may suspend support or terminate the licence if you materially breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
On termination, your license to use the software ends. You may retain any backups of your own data.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
